Chapter 34 - The Geneva Summit

The Palais des Nations in Geneva stood majestic against the backdrop of the snow-capped Swiss Alps, its grand stone facade echoing centuries of diplomatic history. Inside the massive auditorium, over two thousand of the world's most influential economists, corporate executives, and political leaders sat in hushed anticipation.

I stood backstage in the Green Room, adjusting the cuffs of my tailored midnight-blue velvet blazer. My reflection in the full-length mirror showed a woman who had weathered every storm, outsmarted every predator, and forged an empire from the ashes of betrayal.

"Sophia, you're up in two minutes," the stage manager whispered nervously, gesturing toward the heavy velvet curtains.

I nodded, taking a slow, deep breath, and walked out into the blinding warmth of the spotlight.

As I stepped up to the podium, the auditorium erupted into a spontaneous, thunderous wave of applause. I waited for the noise to subside, letting my gaze sweep across the vast sea of expectant faces before leaning into the microphone.

"When we speak of global governance and corporate integrity," I began, my voice clear, steady, and carrying an absolute, commanding authority that required no artificial amplification, "we often focus on compliance frameworks, legal deterrents, and regulatory oversight. But the true measure of an institution is never found in its rules. It is found in its resilience when those rules are deliberately broken by those sworn to uphold them."

A pin could have dropped in the massive auditorium. Every eye was locked onto the stage.

"Years ago, I faced an attempt at total corporate and personal erasure—a meticulously planned scheme executed by individuals who believed that wealth and power were tools for manipulation, and that human lives were merely disposable collateral," I continued, holding the audience completely spellbound. "They thought that by pulling the rug out from under my feet, I would fall into irrelevance. They didn't realize that when you build a foundation with your own hands, truth becomes a weapon that no amount of deception can withstand."

The applause that followed wasn't just polite; it was explosive. Leaders stood up row by row, filling the grand hall with sustained, roaring admiration.
