Chapter 19 - THE PERPETUAL LIGHT

As twilight descended, casting long, soft shadows across the manicured lawns, the estate settled into a peaceful quiet. The foundation headquarters in the city continued its tireless work, but here, beneath the weeping willows, time seemed to slow down.

Inside the study, the glass display case holding the old cordless phone and the frayed emergency number caught the warm amber glow of the desk lamp.

A plaque beneath the display read simply:

May you like

“For every child who feels forgotten, and every parent who refuses to stop searching. Love answers.”

James walked into the study, turning off the desk lamp as he prepared to join Rachel outside for the night. He paused for a moment, looking at the display case, feeling a profound sense of closure wash over his spirit. The ghosts of the syndicate were gone. The bloodlines were healed.
