Chapter 20 - HOME AT LAST

Stepping back out onto the porch, James slipped his hand into Rachel’s. She leaned her head against his shoulder, smiling as a gentle summer breeze washed over them.

"Are you coming in?" Rachel asked softly.

"In a minute," James replied, looking up at the bright expanse of stars overhead.

He took a deep breath, feeling the absolute truth of the life they had fought so desperately to build. They had survived the corporate cutthroat wars, the hidden archives, the stolen children, and the cold nights of the slums.
