Chapter 30 - The Sovereign Oath

Ten years later.

The grand ballroom of the Moretti estate was filled with the soft strains of a classical string quartet, celebrating the tenth anniversary of the estate's complete architectural and structural redesign.

At the center of the room, standing beside the grand staircase, ten-year-old Elena Moretti—bright-eyed, sharp, and intensely curious—was studying the intricate brass blueprints of the estate spread out on a display table, pointing out structural load points to her older brother Leo Jr.

A few feet away, Leo and Sophia stood together near the balcony doors, watching their children with the quiet, unshakeable confidence of people who had mastered both the chaos of the past and the architecture of the future.

Rocco Moretti walked slowly over to them, leaning on a polished dark wood cane, his silver hair catching the amber glow of the crystal chandeliers. He looked at Sophia, then at Leo, and finally out toward the open courtyard where the iron gates stood wide to the world.

"Your mother would have been proud of what you built here, Sophia," Rocco said quietly, his voice carrying the warm weight of a patriarch who had finally found peace.

"We didn't just build a house, Mr. Moretti," Sophia replied, her hand slipping into Leo’s warm palm as their fingers intertwined securely. "We built a sanctuary."

Leo raised his glass toward his father, toward his children, and toward the endless expanse of the Mediterranean horizon gleaming beyond the terrace doors.

"And it will stand," Leo said, his voice echoing with the absolute sovereign authority of a dynasty that would never fall again, "forever."
