Chapter 16 - The Final ConfrontationInside the gleaming server room, rows of quantum mainframes hummed with blue neon light. Standing in the center of the room, typing furiously at the master terminal, was a tall, silver-haired man in an expensive tailored suit—Viktor.

Viktor didn't even turn around as the heavy doors slammed open.

"Agent Carter," Viktor said smoothly, his fingers still dancing across the keyboard. "I must admit, your persistence is admirable. But you're thirty seconds too late. The transfer is irreversible."

Daniel stepped forward, his boots clicking sharply on the raised floor tiles. "You left a backdoor in the encryption protocol, Viktor. Just like you did in Geneva back in 2019."

Viktor stopped typing. He slowly turned around, his eyes widening in sudden, creeping dread. "That... that was classified. How could you know—?"

"Because I wrote the original architecture," Daniel interrupted coldly. With a lightning-fast motion, he hurled his custom override drive across the room. It slotted directly into the terminal’s emergency master port with a satisfying click.

A series of rapid alarms chimed, flashing emerald green instead of red.

“Override successful. System restored,” a synthesized robotic voice echoed through the server room.

Viktor lunged for a concealed sidearm, but Victoria—who had just entered behind Daniel—raised her weapon and fired a precise warning shot that shattered the terminal console inches from Viktor’s hand.

"Don't even think about it," Victoria said, her voice freezing the air in the room.

Hook: Federal agents and international security forces flooded the server room moments later, snapping titanium handcuffs onto Viktor as his global syndicate collapsed in a single second.
