Chapter 7 - The UnmaskingThe ballroom erupted into instant chaos. Flashbulbs blinded the stage as reporters surged forward, shoving microphones toward the podium.

"Majority shareholder?" Marcus stammered, his face turning an unhealthy shade of pale green. "That’s impossible! The Sterling family owns controlling stock! You're a bankrupt mechanic—you don't own a damn thing!"

Daniel stepped forward, sliding a leather-bound folio across the podium. "Check page four, Marcus. Three weeks ago, when your shell corporation Apex Holdings tried to quietly buy up distressed debt notes on Sterling Global’s secondary market, you didn't realize who was buying them on the other side."

Marcus’s eyes scanned the legal document. His breath hitched violently. The signature at the bottom of the controlling trust wasn't an investment bank. It was Daniel Carter Holdings LLC.

"You... you set a trap," Marcus whispered, terror finally breaking through his arrogant facade. "The van breaking down... the engine trouble... it wasn't an accident."

"Nothing in life is an accident, Marcus. Especially not traitors who threaten little girls," Daniel replied coldly, his voice carrying across the silent room.

Before Marcus could turn to run, federal marshals and corporate security officers materialized from the wings of the stage, slapping steel handcuffs onto his wrists.

"Marcus Vance, you're under arrest for corporate espionage, insider trading, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery," the lead marshal declared, marching the disgraced executive away as the flashing cameras captured every agonizing second of his downfall.

Victoria watched him go, a massive weight lifting off her shoulders. She turned to look at Daniel, her heart pounding for an entirely different reason than corporate survival.

Hook: As the crowd applauded, Victoria looked up at the man who had saved her company, her home, and her life—only to realize she still didn't know the full truth about who he really was.
