The deafening crack of Mia’s service pistol echoed across the skyscraper rooftops. The bullet struck the Chief's weapon hand with surgical precision, shattering his grip and sending his pistol clattering over the glass ledge into the abyss below.
Simultaneously, Arthur threw his weight backward, elbowing the Chief hard in the ribs and breaking free from his grasp.
Mia closed the distance in two swift strides, sweeping the Chief’s legs out from under him and slamming him hard onto the wet rooftop concrete. She snapped the steel cuffs onto his wrists with a sharp, satisfying click.
"You're finished," Mia breathed heavily, standing over him as the backup sirens of a dozen arriving federal units finally wailed up from the street below.

As tactical officers swarmed the rooftop to secure the area, the Chief spat a drop of blood onto the concrete and let out a blood-curdling laugh. "You think arresting me stops it, Agent Vance? Look at my laptop screen... the offshore transfer to the ultimate beneficiary already went live ten minutes ago!"
Mia spun around toward the open laptop. The screen flashed a final message: Transfer Complete. Recipient: Unknown Global Entity.
