Before the inventory team could even begin logging the gold bars, a loud, high-pitched automated alarm wailed through the subterranean bunker.
Warning: Structural breach detected. Emergency seal activated. Oxygen depletion sequence initiated.
Clack! Clack! Clack!
Along the main corridor, massive secondary steel blast doors slammed downward one by one, cutting off their exit route back to the surface.
"Dad, move! Now!" Mia sprinted toward the main entrance, but the primary blast door locked shut just a second before she could reach it. The keypad flashed a red digital countdown: 05:00... 04:59...
"We're trapped!" Arthur shouted, rushing over to examine the manual override panel. "The circuit board has been completely fried by an external remote signal!"
